'Glee' Star Mark Salling Dead from Apparent Suicide by Complex News

Former Glee star Mark Salling, who plead guilty to possession of child pornography just last month, was found dead at the Los Angeles River on Tuesday, TMZ reported. According to the site, it appears to be a suicide. Salling, 35, was best-known for his role on Glee as Noah "Puck" Puckerman, which he held from 2009-2015. He was scheduled to be sentenced in March for having over 25,000 images and hundreds of videos of child porn on his computers and flash drives. As part of his plea deal, he was facing between 4-7 years behind bars, as opposed to the potential maximum of 20. He also had to pay $50,000 to each victim requesting payment—a condition that could potentially have cost him millions. Salling reportedly slit his wrists in August of last year, about a month and a half before his plea bargain. He survived and was put in rehab for psychological issues, according to TMZ. He was accused of rape by a former girlfriend in 2016, but the Los Angeles County District Attorney ultimately decided not to pursue the case. The year prior, Stalling paid another woman $2.7 million to settle a claim of sexual battery.
