Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcome a baby girl

There's a new baby on the (private gated community) block: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby girl via a surrogate on Monday. 

TMZ reported the news on Tuesday, and an announcement was posted to Kim's website shortly after.

Their message:

Kim confirmed the couple's use of a surrogate on her E! show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, though TMZ first reported the news in early September. In November, Kim accidentally revealed the sex of her child during an appearance on the Ellen Degeneres Show.

This is the third child for the couple. As she's oft-discussed in recent seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim suffers from placenta accreta, a high-risk condition that made her first two pregnancies unusually challenging.
