Here's a thought exercise for you: What would Star Wars: The Last Jedi be without its female characters?
The answer is a slim and sloppy 46 minutes – and a reason for Mark Hamill and Rian Johnson to laugh their asses off.
Over the weekend, a Pirate Bay user uploaded a "de-feminized fan edit" of the film that cuts out most of the women, including "Haldo" (sic) in her entirety; alters Luke Skywalker's storyline to cut out the "whiny/reluctant/murderous psycho" stuff; and makes Kylo Ren "more badass and much less conflicted and volatile."
